The largest raises were:
💰 Domestika, a popular US site that creates and sells online video tutorials covering a range of skills, reached unicorn status after raising $110m in funding
💰 Cialfo, based in Singapore, secured $40m in funding to make the college application process easier with a platform that includes communication tools for counselors and students
💰 Mentor Collective raised $21m after bootstrapping for the past seven years. The US company secured 83,000 mentorships in 2021 and doubled its revenue to $10m ARR
💰 CoLearn raised $17m to further expand its paid user base in Indonesia. CoLearn’s main strengths include its live classes and AI-powered homework assistance
Additionally:
💰 UK based FourthRev and Skiller Whale raised $8m and $2.9m respectively
💰 In India GrowthSchool closed $5m in funding for its live learning platform
💥 In case you missed it ➡️ Brighteye Ventures launched their 2021 EdTech annual funding report highlighting exciting news for Europe which saw $2.5bn of Edtech VC in 2021 (more than 3X increase). However, the report also shared alarming stats on gender distribution - only 3% of European Edtech VC was secured by female founding teams in 2021
