Brighteye announced they are launching the Brighteye Edtech Startup Festival, a week of digital events designed for Edtech operators, to run on 5-9ย September 2022. ๐ฐ German startup Personio raised $200m at a $8.5bn valuation. Personio, founded in 2015, is now Germany's second-most valuable startup after Celonis, and has no plans to go public immediately.
๐ฐ US startup, JobGet, raised $52m with ambitions to be the LinkedIn for shift workers. The number of companies posting on the site is now at 50,000, up from just 1,000 three years ago.
๐ฐ WorkMotion, a Berlin-based HR tech platform that enables companies to hire and onboard their employees internationally, raised $50m. Currently, it has grown to have more than 500 customers.
๐ฐ Aidaly, a US company coming out of stealth mode which was created to help family caregivers find sources for compensation and financial aid, secured $8.5m. Aidaly scans a database of hundreds of programs and benefits to maximize caregiversโ payouts.
๐ฐ London-based Web3 learning and talent startup Neol raised $5.2m. Neol runs online training schemes. Itโs similar to On Deck, although instead of targeting founders and startup operators, itโll be targeting younger design and creative professionals, as well as mid-level managers involved in corporate innovation.
๐ฐ Leadline, a high-growth recruitment SaaS company, raised $5m. It also announced the launch of an expanded new software platform designed to help staffing and recruiting companies drive hiring success without the enterprise price point.
๐ฐ US-Based startup Unify Jobs raised $4.5m. Unify Jobs is a spin-off of Unify Labs. Unify Labs was founded with the mission to power inclusive prosperity by researching systems and technology that drive inequality, redesigning and launching alternative equitable solutions.
๐ฐ mpathic, a Seattle-area startup aiming to bring more empathy to the corporate communication landscape, landed $4m. The companyโs enterprise software analyzes conversations happening in texts, emails, audio calls, and more to help employees identify potential misunderstandings in their communication.
๐ฐ UK startup Notify Technology secured $3.8m. Notify Technology was founded to drive an online platform enabling businesses to improve health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace. It counts the likes of Travis Perkins, Siemens Mobility, Birmingham City University and Cazoo as clients and has users in over 100 countries.
๐ฐ CEE platform for marketing skills assessments, Heroify, raised $390k. Heroify is a skill testing platform for marketing jobs that helps hiring teams save time and money by verifying candidates skills with tailor-made tests.
Higher Ed:
๐ฐ Leap, an overseas education-focused guidance and financing platform, secured $75m. In the last 12 months, they have grown their revenue 400% and see that growth continuing very strongly over the next 12 to 18 months.ย Check out their creative announcement on social media here.
๐ฐ Kibo School, a Transcend Fellow and winner of the ASU GSV cup, raised $2m to offer online STEM degrees to students in Africa. Through its short courses launched last year, the school trained 400 students in 13 countries in Africa.
๐ฐ Pakistan startup Out-Class raised $500k. Launched in 2021 as the 'Netflix for students' by a LUMS alumna and two Harvard alumni, Out-Class is aiming to become an equaliser for education and already serves over 10,000 students through bite-sized courses.
