Workforce:
π° Guild (aka Guild Education), a provider of an online education platform with a focus on upskilling frontline employees, raised $175m from a range of investors including Oprah Winfrey. So far this year, the company has launched partnerships with Hilton, PepsiCo, Kohlβs and Tyson Foods
π° Spanish startup Odilio raised $64m as its white label e-learning library passed 8,500 customers and 170m users. Odilioβs customers include government bodies, libraries and education organizations like MIT, and also corporate customers such as Google and Vodafone
π° UK-based marketplace that connects vacant care home shifts to local nurses and carers looking for extra work, Florence raised $35m. The startup reports an increase in revenue by 5x year over year between 2021 and 2022 and now serves more than a quarter of social care in the UK
π° Talently announced it closed $3m which is the largest seed round in Spanish-speaking countries for an EdTech startup. Talently trains tech talent and connects them to international companies through a marketplace. ItΒ grew 50X during the pandemic and continues to grow 30% MoM
π° SkillPointe, a three-sided marketplace helping to solve the USβ prevalent skilled worker shortage, raised $2.25m. SkillPointeβs platform has more than 350k jobs in Construction, Healthcare, IT, Energy, Manufacturing, and over 50k training programs
π° French startup Naboo, a common name for those who have followed the Star Wars saga, raised $2m. It manages a network of 150 houses that allow teams to meet, often in the countryside. The objective is: to work - together - outside the office. The startup operates a subscription service and is currently supporting around 20 companies
π° Malaysia-based GIFT.ed raised $1m. The company's practical insights and internationally acclaimed leadership learning curriculum has helped thousands of Fortune 500, Government and NGO leaders anticipate and navigate a turbulent 21st century
Higher Ed:
π° South African startup, Enko Education, raised $5.8m. Enko Education schools provide a high-quality African international education with personalized support. 750m African adolescents will be of school age by 2030, and Enko Education is trying to ensure that these students have access to the greatest universities
K-12:
π° India based math tutoring startup, Cuematch, raised $57m. The startup said its valuation has doubled since its last funding round in December 2020. Cuemath is present in more than 70 countries and aims to expand to over 100 countries by the end of the fiscal year
π° Prisms VR, a learning platform pioneering a new paradigm for math education, raised $4.25m. Prisms currently serves dozens of school districts in the US and will use this financing to expand its reach to more than 100,000 students across 65 school districts in 15 states by the end of 2022
π° India-based Homi Lab, a co-curricular futuristic learning platform, raised $650k. Homi Lab claims that 1,000 students were trained to take pictures of planet Earth by programming a camera on the International Space Station and the startup plans to use its new funds for developing a cutting-edge technology platform and high-quality unique content creation
