Last week, I shared a HolonIQ report which noted that EdTech Venture Capital reached 3x pre-pandemic investment levels in 2021
We’re now two weeks into the year and already seeing exciting activity
The most notable raises this week include:
💰 LEAD School, India’s largest school EdTech player, became the first ‘EdTech Unicorn’ of 2022 after raising $100m to continue its mission of transforming schools in India
💰 GoStudent, which provides one-to-one video-based online tutoring, raised $340m in funding. The funding comes just seven months after GoStudent became Europe’s first EdTech unicorn
💰 Career Karma, announced its $40m series B raise. Career Karma is bringing in eight figures from making introductions between prospective students and training programs around the world
💰 Wonderschool announced $25m series B funding led by Goldman Sachs amidst growing demand for high quality, flexible childcare support from families, providers, and policymakers
💰 Kodland, which is based in London and teaches kids digital skills, grabbed $9m to scale its online coding school into more markets
💰 Owl Ventures closed over $1bn in new funds for global EdTech investments. Owl’s leaders say little is off-limits when it comes to the types of companies they intend to invest in, from pre-kindergarten to higher education and the future of work
